In the next “Supernatural“, Sam, Dean and Castiel track down the Colt and head off to find Lucifer to send him back to Hell. It’s a hunters’ reunion when the crew joins forces with Bobby, Ellen and Jo for what could be their last night on Earth.

The episode is called “Abandon All Hope” and it will boast the guest starring appearances from Alona Tal, Samantha Ferris and Mark Sheppard. The first two reprise their roles as Jo and Ellen respectively while Mark makes his debut as Crowley. The episode will air on November 18 as the last episode of 2009 and the show is scheduled to return with originals on January 14.

Talking about the episode that will leave fans hanging, Misha Collins aka Castiel told Huffington Post that there will be a huge showdown between him and Lucifer. “Well, as with the Devil’s trap, which is used to trap demons, there is, actually, as we’ve discovered on the show, Angel trapping technology, that I introduced to the show. It’s a ring of holy fire,” he explained.

“And Lucifer ends up using my own tricks against me and interrogates me, in a way. Basically, Lucifer tries to persuade me to join his ranks as a fellow Fallen. A fellow rebellious angel. It’s quite a face off.”

After being trapped in TV land, Supernatural sets up a little fan convention this week as Wincest fanfiction writer Becky (guest star Emily Perkins) returns. Not everyone was pleased when Becky first appeared in the fifth season opener “Sympathy For The Devil,” since the thought of Sam and Dean hooking up made a lot of fans sick but perhaps her comeback in this week’s “The Real Ghostbusters” will shed her in a different light.

According to the CW’s official release, super fan Becky uses Chuck’s (guest star Chuck Benedict) phone to trick Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) into attending a Supernatural fan convention, complete with fans dressed up as Sam and Dean. One of the activities is a live action role playing game, but things quickly turn sour after a real ghost appears on the scene.

While the release alone is enough to tickle your curiosity, you might want to check out the video below. Basically, comedy ensues when Dean and Sam drive all night to help Chuck with a life or death situation only to find out that Chuck is safe and sound. It turns out it’s Becky who’s responsible for text messaging Sam and this all leads to weird confessions and disturbing fantasies.

Supernatural - Misha Collins Interview

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

OK, I have to jump right into the upcoming episode “Changing Channels,” because I hear we are in fantasy TV land.
Yes!

So what can you tell me about the episode?
You know what? It looked like the most fun episode that I’ve seen from a director’s or cinematographer’s standpoint. The show is jumping back and forth between parodies of genres of television. There’s sitcoms, there’s CSI Miami, if that is a genre, which I think it may now be.

I think it is. [laughs]

I think it’s amazing, actually. It’s quite an achievement to have a television program that’s achieved its own genre. But yeah, it just looked like so much fun to make from that vantage point, and it was a lot of fun to do. But totally and completely different from any other episode of Supernatural that I’ve seen.

An episode of “Supernatural” which pays homage to several other shows on television will air on November 5. In “Changing Channels“, when Sam and Dean find themselves living their lives on what appear to be TV shows, it makes for a whole new style of reality television and they wonder if the Trickster (guest star Richard Speight, Jr.) is to blame.

The preview gives glimpses of the brothers in shows like “Grey’s Anatomy“, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation“, a Japanese game and a sitcom. Each new experience they encounter is more bizarre than the next and they want out. But is the Trickster really the mastermind behind the madness?

Trickster first appeared on the show in the episode “Tall Tales” of season 2. This character is a member of demigods who can cause chaos with their pranks which are sometimes humorous. He made a return and was last seen in the third season’s “Mystery Spot” where he trapped Dean in an infinite time loop which caused him to continually die in increasingly strange ways.

[GARY] 17 years old, physicality is extremely important for this role, GARY NEEDS TO BE THIN, THIN, THIN, and needs to be very likeable and appealing. Ideally he’s like the character “McLovin” from “Superbad” or Anthony Michael Hall in “16 Candles.” Puny, gawky, bespectacled, smart and geeky, he’s a naive, amateur Satanist who works at a fast food joint and longs to break free from his wealthy, stifling parents. He’s granted one of his wishes, and starts to live the life he’s always wanted. Please denote age next to your suggestions. GUEST STAR

Supernatural - Interview with Jim Beaver

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

As our preview clip the other day suggested, this week’s episode of Supernatural is a particular toughie for Bobby: not only is he still wheelchair-bound, but he gets involved in a high-stakes poker game that has very serious consequences for one of the brothers. Our resident Supernatural expert Lara Martin hooked up with Jim Beaver, who plays the brothers’ ever-reliable mentor, to find out more.

This week’s episode is a big one for Bobby – he ends up getting in a bit of trouble. Can you talk us through what happens?
“Bobby basically decides to engage in a very high stakes game of poker which has a drastic affect on his age. Sam and Dean have to run in and save him from the fire.”

I’ve read elsewhere that you’re going to be in more episodes this season than any other season. Does this mean Bobby is going to be quite pivotal?
“I don’t know if pivotal is the word I would use. There’s nothing in the scripts I have read so far that I would describe as ‘pivotal’ for Bobby. I think the next episode is an important one for Bobby in terms of storytelling. Also episode ten is powerful and the fans will be left reeling.”

Does this mean the usually level-headed Bobby might start getting a bit reckless as he battles his frustration at not being able to walk?
“I don’t know about reckless, I hadn’t looked at it that way before. I definitely think he is frustrated and angry because of his limitations. He can’t just go running into battle any more. There’s an episode coming up where the others are off fighting and he is stuck at home manning the telephones. I think it will also affect Sam and Dean as well because they are used to seeing him a certain way.”

Bobby’s been in a wheelchair for a few episodes now. How are you finding that experience?
“It’s been a challenge but I’ve only been doing it for a few episodes so it’s still quite fun. I like rolling around and doing wheelies on set and stuff. But I do take this very seriously. I can get out of the chair at the end of the day and go home and I recognize that, so many people can’t and I have to be considerate to them and respect that.”

We saw in the opening episode a demon-possessed Bobby telling Sam to “lose his number”. Even though he apologized do you think there is still an underlying tension?
“Call me an idealist but I think when Bobby apologized to Sam he meant it. I think that the issue was cleared and we can take that moment at face value. I suppose there is potential for it to come up again in the future. There’s not really drama in everyone being friendly and nice to each other, but I like to think he meant it.”

There’s also potential for another clash between Sam and Dean in their newfound positions as vessels for Michael and Lucifer. What do you think about that?
“I think that seems where it is heading but I honestly don’t know how that is going to pan out. Again it would make for great dramatic television, but I only know what’s going to happen when I get the script in front of me!”

Who would Bobby choose between Sam and Dean if he was forced to make that decision?
“That’s a good question! I guess he would have to come down on the side of whoever was doing the right thing, but as this show tells us, the right thing is not always clear and easy to identify. There is an old saying, ‘It’s not about making the right decision, it’s about making a decision and sticking to it.’ So I think Bobby would side with whoever he felt was right.”

There have been rumors that a couple of characters will die this season and you posted a rather cryptic message on your Twitter account that worried fans. Should we be worried about Bobby?
“This is Supernatural! Of course you should be worried! There are some things I can say and some things I can’t say and that is one of those things. I’m not sure exactly what will happen this season but Eric Kripke and the other writers usually manage to throw something at us. I do know that some really gut-wrenching stuff is coming up but I can’t tell you what character it will happen to!”

You’ve played this beloved father figure to Sam and Dean for five seasons. What’s your relationship like with Jared and Jensen in real life?
“Bobby is a mentor and a guide and an advice-giver and I’m not sure I am any of those things to Jared and Jensen! I think they’ve probably given me advice on more occasions than I have given it to them. We’re friends and colleagues and we enjoy each other’s company. I do have a couple of years on them but that’s never been an issue.”

There’s been constant speculation about a sixth season – what’s the current situation as you know it?
“I will have to give you my standard answer on this and say I don’t know. My gut feeling is that the show will continue but nothing has been confirmed yet. The last time I spoke to Eric Kripke he was still open to a sixth season but nothing is set in stone. I just have a gut feeling and belief that it will happen.”

Supernatural fans know Jim Beaver as Bobby.

But the veteran actor has appeared on a slew of well-reviewed, popular shows, from classics such as The West Wing to current hits such as Big Love.

In an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, the affable actor talked about his long career, while hyping an upcoming episode of Supernatural he describes as “one of the most memorable we’ve ever had…”

TV Fanatic: Talk about the evolution of Bobby as a character on Supernatural.
Beaver: When I first shot the finale of season one, nobody said anything about this being a recurring character. But I was very pleased to come back for a second episode - Deadwood was coming to an end and I was concerned about my next job - and, by the third episode, we all began thinking Bobby could be an integral part of the show.

TV Fanatic: You have a long, impressive resume. Is there any role that stands out that Supernatural fans might not be aware of?
Beaver: Deadwood was a high point in my career in several ways, but most fans know about that. My first series was actually a sitcom called Thunder Alley. It aired for a couple years and I played the village idiot… a major departure from Bobby.

TV Fanatic: We loved Harper’s Island and have to ask: Did the cast know who was getting killed off each week?
Beaver: We knew when we got each script, which was three or four days before shooting an episode. More than that, though, none of us knew if we were guilty or innocent, which was weird to play. It was a lot of fun, but there’s a fine line to acting for a role when you have no idea if you’re a killer.

TV Fanatic: Back to Supernatural. What’s it like working with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles?
Beaver: Who?!? [Laughs.] They are just lovely guys to work with. There’s a warm feeling every time I show up on the set. They’re fun, funny… have good hearts.
It’s really not always the case where you have two young, handsome leads that turn out to be great guys, too.

TV Fanatic: What’s it like on set?
Beaver: Honestly, if you take away the Apocalyptic angst afflicting these two, Sam and Dean are an awful lot like Jared and Jensen. There’s a lot of banter, a lot of fun at one another’s expense, in front of the camera and behind it with the crew.

TV Fanatic: Will this be the show’s final season?
Beaver: This is nothing but a guess, but I have a gut feeling we’ll be back. I don’t know all the issues at play. It’s just a sneaking hunch.

TV Fanatic: Can you give us any Supernatural spoilers?
Beaver: Episode 10 very powerful. It’s one of most memorable episodes we’ve ever had. It has its share of humor, along with a dark disturbing element - and fans will be talking about it for a long time.
