IT’S BOBBY’S WIFE! — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate Bobby’s home town where the dead are rising from the grave but instead of attacking humans, they are happily reuniting with their families. The brothers turn to Bobby (Jim Beaver) for help but he tells them not to worry about it and to leave town. Suspicious, Dean investigates and comes face to face with Bobby’s dead wife (guest star Carrie Anne Fleming) who has no memory of what happened to her. Once the zombies start turning evil, the boys tell Bobby he has to kill his wife but he refuses. Posted on SPNsite/KSiteTV. John Showalter directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#516).
“I’m forming some kind of unholy alliance” with the Winchesters, the actor in question told The Watcher.
In the memorable November episode, “Abandon All Hope…,” Sam and Dean met a demon named Crowley, who wasn’t so keen on Lucifer walking the Earth (he guessed that once Lucifer wiped out the humans, the demons would be next). Crowley gave Sam and Dean the Colt, a powerful weapon that, as it turned out, didn’t have much of an effect on El Diablo.
Well, Crowley will be back in cahoots with Sam and Dean toward the end of the season. Sheppard said he’s going to appear in Episode 20 of Season 5 — and don’t be surprised if Crowley is around for more than one episode.
Even better news? “Supernatural’s” Ben Edlund is writing Episode 20 (he also wrote “Abandon All Hope…” as well as any number of memorable Winchester outings).
Sheppard said he was looking forward to returning to Vancouver in a couple of weeks to work on the show. Crowley, who’s not nearly as contemplative as “Supernatural’s” Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), is “real fun to play with,” he said.
Another member of Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is coming to Supernatural. Matt Frewer — best known for his recent key role on Eureka – has been cast as Pestilence, the figure that created and spread disease. He’s the third of the Four Horsemen to appear on season five. Supernatural fans have already met War (Titus Welliver) and Famine (James Otis). Death, meanwhile, has only appeared off-screen in one episode.

Talking to TV Guide about Frewer character, producer Sera Gamble said: “Our first brush with him in Episode 520 seems relatively innocuous and then unfolds into something more substantial. Put it to you this way: Horsemen on our show tend to think several moves ahead.”
Supernatural returns with a new episode on March 25.
Supernatural has cast another of the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse.
Matt Frewer — best known for a recent role in Eureka and for playing the title character on Max Headroom — has been cast as Pestilence, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Pestilence creates and spreads disease.
Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Gossip Girl among early CW renewals
“Our first brush with him in Episode 520 seems relatively innocuous and then unfolds into something more substantial,” executive producer Sera Gamble said. “Put it to you this way: Horsemen on our show tend to think several moves ahead.”
Throughout Season 5, we’ve met two of the Four Horsemen. War (Titus Welliver) and Famine (James Otis) have appeared, while the fourth Horseman, Death, has only appeared off-screen in one episode.
While Supernatural fans wait for this CW show to return on March 25, we can at least give them something to chew on until then. On April 15, Supernatural airs its 100th episode. What will take place during this milestone hour?
“A very important character will sacrifice themselves in a suicide mission,” executive producer Sera Gamble told
Michael Ausiello. “We wanted to deliver something with real scope [on this episode]; it’s about the Archangel Michael. Crises will come to a head for Dean and Castiel. And you’ll see characters you never thought you’d see again.”
Cue the suspenseful music… Who do you think is headed for an early grave?
Hey all- look for Mary to return in a few weeks, when Supernatural is back on air. It’s a good one! Hope you’re all doing great!
The season 6 renewal for Supernatural is great news for fans who want more Sam and Dean action, but perhaps the biggest open question is: what about Cas? The show’s resident angel has a contract through the end of season 5, but currently his future with Supernatural is in doubt.

Fans may love the trench coat-sporting angel played by Misha Collins, but if the Apocalypse storyline is wrapped up, would the angel still be a part of season 6? Right now, I see three distinct possibilities for how Supernatural can handle the impending Cas problem.
Cas Lives On
Despite coming to the end of the Apocalypse story, Cas could stick around as Sam and Dean’s guardian angel, popping in whenever they need help, essentially becoming another Bobby. However, if he keeps his angel powers, there’s always the underlying fact that the Heaven story arc is still active and open.
The Return of Jimmy Novak
Instead of continuing to be an angel, maybe Castiel finally leaves his vessel, Jimmy Novak, and lets the man return to his life. Obviously in “The Rapture” Jimmy was near death and Cas returned to the body as the only way to keep it alive, but surely God can fix everything like he most likely did after the archangel blew Cas to bits at the end of season 4. With Cas gone, Jimmy could tag along with the boys in season 6 as a Hunter-in-training.
No More Cas
Sadly, what’s best for Supernatural may be worst for fans of Misha Collins. If the show really wants to get back to basics and return to a more intimate story about the brothers’ relationship, there’s no alternative to killing or permanently getting rid of Cas. In order for Supernatural to have a fresh start in season 6, the show needs to have a massive angel purge, and that includes the awesome Cas. The only thing that might prevent the show from going this direction is the fact that Misha Collins has become a part of the Supernatural family and the producers may find it too difficult to drop him.
So which way do you want Supernatural to go with Cas in season 6?
Denise in Janesville, Wis.: I’m hoping you can answer this question since it has turned into a very heated debate among the Supernatural fandom. The so-called hot topic is this: Does Misha Collins’ contract with the show end this year, or does it run through the newly announced season six? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We checked on this for you, and insiders tell us that as of right now, Misha Collins’ Supernatural contract is just through to the end of the current fifth season—in part because when his deal was being worked out, there was no such thing as a season six.
Sources close to the CW Award-winning Best Supporting Actor are “hopeful” that Misha will be asked back for season six, but as of right now, folks close to the recurring player are in the same holding pattern as the rest of us.
News about whether or not we’ll get more Misha should come down over the coming weeks and months as the writing staff sorts out storylines for season six.
So, do you guys want to see more of Castiel/Jimmy in season six of Supernatural? Use the comments to tell the powers-that-be how you feel about Misha! It might make all the difference in the world…
I sent a note to “Supernatural” executive producer Sera Gamble when I heard about the show’s renewal for a sixth season. I said I was happy to hear that the show would be returning, but I had to be a little cheeky and ask if viewers would be getting “The Apocalypse 2: The Squeakquel” next season. Here’s her response:
“No, you will not be getting Apocalypse, The Squeakuel in Season 6 (that’s hilarious),” Gamble wrote. “We’re climaxing that story this season. We’ve been working on the Season 6 storyline for quite some time, and we’re very excited about it. We have lots of ideas, and are grateful for the chance to keep the show going.
“Please tell the fans that the writers say thank you! We so appreciate the support.”
